“We would be delighted!” was our response to being asked to host an event on behalf of the Suffolk Carbon Charter, as an award winner it was a pleasure. The event offered the chance to find out a bit more about what we have done to improve our environmental accreditations, and see how the print industry works today.
So, on a sunny and warm August evening we hosted “A Blueprint for Green Printing” sponsored by the Suffolk Carbon Charter and organised by Groundwork East of England (Suffolk Carbon Charter independent auditors) and Suffolk County Council (on behalf of the Carbon Charter Panel). After informal networking and refreshments tours of the facility commenced and were received with great interest and enthusiasm by all of the attendees.
The Suffolk Carbon Charter provides a well recognised endorsement for Suffolk based SMEs that demonstrate effective environmental management. Charter holders benefit from independently assessed accreditation and a high profile award and it was a pleasure to work closely with the team to make the event a success.
Fuller Davies printing and mailing in Ipswich specialise in leaflets, brochures, magazines and all kinds of printed matter be it large or small. We are a carbon balanced printer, hold both Suffolk Carbon Charter (Silver) and ISO 14001 as recognition of our environmental management processes and the actions including waste reduction, staff training, sustainable procurement and customer engagement.
The event rounded off with some brief talks from Neil Stones on how Fuller Davies has improved its green practices and Martyn Plumbly from Paperlinx on what the paper industry has done over the last 10 years to ensure sustainability.
